A quality education isn’t supposed to be easy, but ASA’s new Self-Study Station program takes a lot of the inconvenience out of traditional learning formats and lets you focus on what matters most: advancing your knowledge.

Each Self Study learning module offers self-directed, immersive experiences focused on a particular disease state, professional practice gap or clinical application.

Four modules are currently available, each offering 1 CME credit upon completion:

  • Ambulatory Anesthesia: Challenges and Solutions in Ambulatory Anesthesia
  • Cardiac Anesthesia: Leadership Challenges Outside of the OR: Insuring Progress-Cardiac NORA
  • Critical Care Medicine: Minimizing ICU Complications in Perioperative Surgical Home
  • Pain Medicine: Establishing a Successful Pain and Surgical Home – Meeting Points for Acute, Chronic Pain and Anesthesia Services

On-site Self-Study Stations are located adjacent to the Sails Pavilion near the main registration area. Participants can access the educational content of their choice from tablet computers provided at these stations. The learning modules are also available on the ASA website through the Education Center and can be accessed anytime, anywhere and on any device. Just go to the ASA website, sign in, and click on “ANESTHESIOLOGY 2015 — Self Study Station Program.”

Upon completion, learners will be able to compare their pre-test and post-test scores and view benchmarking data against others who’ve completed the same activity.

“ASA is on the cutting-edge of continuing professional development, and our new Self Study program underscores that,” said ASA Chief Learning Officer Ed Dellert. “ANESTHESIOLOGY 2015 annual meeting attendees will benefit from this new self-study option by accessing additional informal learning that complements other great educational sessions during the meeting and by obtaining more CME credit.”

The Self Study Stations will be available for use from Saturday through Wednesday.
