Self-Study program expands to 12 modules

Three Self-Study stations are located in the Northeast and Northwest lobbies, Level 1, and will be open during regular convention center hours.

The ASA’s Self-Study program debuted at ANESTHESIOLOGY 2015 with just four modules. This year, there are 12, offering in-depth exploration of everything from multimodal therapy in pain management to the “Juggles and Struggles of Women in Anesthesiology.”

How did the Self-Study program triple its growth in just two years? Because the modules are one of the most efficient yet intellectually rigorous ways for you to increase your clinical competence while earning credit. Perhaps best of all, these self-directed, case-based sessions are available 24 hours a day during ANESTHESIOLOGY 2017. The Self-Study program offers learners a potential 6 AMA PRA Category 1 credits.

Just like last year, each session is professionally narrated and can be completed for credit simply by logging in, clicking a “start” button, listening to the presentation and claiming credit at the end. No other action is required on your part.

A total of three Self-Study stations are located in the Northeast and Northwest Lobby, Level 1, and will be open during regular convention center hours. However, you also have the option of completing the courses through the ASA Education Center at any time during the meeting.

If you choose to participate on site, you must have your ASA login credentials handy to access the modules. ASA Education Department staff will be available to assist you with any questions you might have.

Please note that if you do not have an ASA I.D. and password in our member database and are registering on site, a new record will need to be created for you, and you will be enrolled in the course within 24 hours of your registration.
